Route 202 Flemington Circle
Flemington, N. J. Phone 9177
New Modern Dining Room - Total seating Capacity 125.
Air Conditioned - Baking Done on Premises.
Pub. by Jack Jacobs Co., 1950 Fairview Ave., Easton, Pa.
From the mid-1950s until 1994, the Circle Diner at the intersection of routes 202
and 31 was one of the most popular places to eat in town.
In 1994, the building burned down, when the owner had the place torched
in an attempt to cash in on the $1 million insurance.
The owner admitted the scheme in 1996.
T.G.I. Friday’s has since filled the Circle Diner’s place on the Flemington Circle,
but there’s no genuine Jersey diner in the town.
There's a Facebook group devoted to it.
