Frontier Town Highway Exhibit. First-time viewers were always good for a double-take
when they saw and heard the mechanical growling bear exhibit at the highway entrance to
Frontier Town. The exhibit, as shown in this c. 1958 chrome view, drew many tourists off the
main highway for a fun side trip to Frontier Town, just around the bend. Unfortunately, this
great roadside attraction, located 15 mies west of Helena and just east of the MacDonald Pass
summit, is now closed, and the bear is gone.
